After a fantastic 2015, we’re looking forward to an even better 2016. Our first event of the year will be this Friday, April 1st and no, we are not fooling. We are offering more than 65 free and 99 cent books by forty plus talented authors. This year, you can find the books at events.supportindieauthors.com so mark your calendars and save the pranks for later!

As is our tradition, we have asked each of the authors to participate in a short interview so you can better get to know them. Below are just some of the featured authors as well as links to read the rest of the interviews. As always, thank you for continuing to #SupportIndieAuthors!

We can do classy too!

I played way too much D&D growing up. Breath of the Titans is based off a campaign I built, that I always wanted to run but never had the chance to. Creating a half dragon half elf is an interesting challenge.

This one time at band camp....seriously though, growing up my older sister used to always pick on me. I got her back with the old salt in the sugar bowl routine. Priceless.
Pick one of your characters to play a prank on. Who are they? What is the prank? And how do they react?
I choose Jaxon, the halfling in Breath of the Titans, he's the least likely to hurt me after. I'll put shaving cream in his hand, and tickle his face, so he slaps himself with it. As for how he reacts, he'll probably try and tackle me, but I'll hold him at arms reach easily. Sara said we should pick Earl from Everyone Dies At The End, and hide his drugs, but I'm afraid he would pull a gun on us.

Two are humorous looks at the every day life of a fast food restaurant done in tiny stories of exactly one thousand words each. The third book is a mockery of advice columns.

While on a hike during a camping trip I looked across the lake and saw my wife leaving the cabin in which we were staying. As I watched, she took the car up the hill to the bathhouse and went in. I waited a moment, then called her and disguised my voice, saying I was one of the park rangers and wanted to ask her about the quality of the restrooms, since I knew she was using one right now. She didn't recognize my voice and it freaked her out.

Aren't we authors already cruel enough to our creations? You want to encourage us to do more? You're sick. I like you.

An inspiring story about a charming young Nigerian girl Adaugo, who experiences a devastating tragedy at a young age. As she blossoms into a young woman, she struggles to balance and overcome cultural and social expectations in her strive to live life as her authentic self. Her story is one that any person, young or old will learn from as it illustrates the beauty of dreaming big and never giving up.

Sounds boring, but I am usually too wired and too alert on April Fools day to get pranked on. I disbelieve everything I am told and even if someone told me my name was Chika or had two butt cheeks (hahaha I said butt), I would think twice and confirm, just to make sure I wasn't being pranked.

Adaugo sets the alarm and house clock three hours early, causing her younger sister, Obioma to wake up too early. Obioma gets showered and dressed up for work, only for her to step outside the house to find everywhere still dead quiet because it is only 4:30AM instead of 7:30AM. Obioma turns around, gets back into the house with a puzzled and confused look only to find Adaugo sitting on the brown leather chair, still dressed in her lilac pajamas, with her night headscarf fully intact on her head. Obioma is still confused until it finally hits her and Adaugo screams the following words, "April Fool! Go to school, Tell your teacher you are a fool! Booyaa!!! and runs back into the bedroom (Ps: that's what people in Nigeria sing when you have been successfully pranked on April Fools Day)

Ed Delaney has just invented the world's first time machine. He is trapped in a bad marriage and finds himself wondering what life would have been like if he had married the girl who got away. Suddenly, a freak accident sends him back thirty years, giving him a chance to change some of the decisions he has made.

I worked the night shift at a print shop, running two laser copiers and would sometimes leave an email for my manager detailing how the evening went. On the night of March 31st, I left a message telling about how the machine malfunctioned and ended up catching fire, causing the rubber rollers to melt down on the imaging array. I described a nightmarish sequence of events that just about gave the guy a heart attack. I ended the letter by saying that he needed to look at his calendar to see what day it was, because none of it was true. Everyone passed that email around for weeks and got a good laugh out of it.

I would play a prank on Ed Delaney by hiding five of his six kids and having his wife Susan pretend that they never did have more than one child. That would freak him out, because he would think that two of the three time lines that he had experienced were getting confused. Then, Susan would have the kids come out of hiding and yell, "April Fool's!"

In The Known Lands, the sources of all magic (human and otherwise) are mysterious pools called Wellsprings, which are owned and guarded by fairy folk. In Call of Kythshire, the Wellspring of Kythshire is threatened by Sorcerers, and a squire named Azaeli finds herself trapped in a plot to stop them. In Call of Sunteri, a slave boy named Tib escapes captivity only to be led into a dangerous quest to aid in the restoration of the nearly depleted Wellspring of Sunteri.

At the risk of sounding like a boring old cod, I'm going to be honest with this answer. I was always the prankee, and they weren't nice pranks, like tacks on my chair at school. So, I tend to stay away from pranks. Even the funniest ones seem a bit cruel to me. I think the most fun I ever had surprising someone, though, was when I filled a friend's office with balloons for her birthday. We had fun popping them afterwards!
Pick one of your characters to play a prank on. Who are they? What is the prank? And how do they react?
Oh, I think it would be so much fun to prank Flitt or Rian. Flitt would get so mad and probably tell me I was "typical." On the other hand, Rian would most likely find a way to get back at me with a prank that was a hundred times worse. And for a Mage, that's kind of scary. Come to think of it, pranking a fairy is a little terrifying, too. I think I'll stick vehemently to my no-pranking policy.

This is an urban / dark fantasy series for lovers of vampires, angels and demons. Of course I had to include a strong female protagonist, as well ... why wouldn't I? Oh, and did I mention that I've also created my own monster?

Picture my sister and myself always threatening to buy ‘Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman’ on DVD as a present for our nephews, when they waited until the last minute to let us know what they wanted for their birthday. Picture one nephew opening up his present when he turned 21, to find ‘Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman’ on DVD! We gave him his proper present after that, but the look on his face was priceless!

Predestined to become the great messiah of his people, Ayn must save his galaxy from disease and war. But can he do it, and should he? Ayn must decide before it's too late!

I don't do pranks. I'm too honest for my own good.

I don't really pull pranks, but if I had no choice, I'd do it to Zin. He has a good heart, but he's a spoiled prince who deserves some pranking. I'd hide his favorite musical instrument and watch him have a heart attack before I admitted it's actually in the trunk of my car.
