Never Forever: Talking Covers & Beloved Rogues with Book of Never Author Author Ashley Capes

Image
It's not often that I go starry-eyed over an epic fantasy quest, but it happens. Thanks to the amazing community of indie fantasy authors, it's happening more and more. And this guy here is definitely to blame: Well, okay, that guy isn't a real person, but his phenomenally talented creator, Ashley Capes, sure is, and I will happily blame him for my addiction to his adventure fantasy series, The Book of Never.  Today, the final book in this series, Imperial Towers, comes out and I cannot wait until my preorder copy hits my Kindle.  Only one thing stands between Never and answers – his brother. Driven toward the enemy-occupied Imperial City, Never’s doubts grow. Even with new knowledge about his powers, can he truly keep his friends safe in a warzone? Or, like too many times before, will he end up responsible for the deaths of those he should have protected? In honor of this new release, and to show off the amazing cover art for this series, I...

FLYING CARS! Announcing David M. Kelly's Newest Release

Image
What makes regular science fiction even better? When it's set in the near future and features flying cars. Well, okay, there are a lot of factors that make sci-fi so much fun for so many of us, I gotta admit, I'm a huge fan of flying cars. So when I saw the cover for David M. Kelly's latest book, Mathematics of Eternity, which as you can see, features a flying taxicab, I got super excited. That's right, Uber, cabs are still a thing in the future. As fun as that cover is, it has nothing on the trailer, which you should go watch right now:  https://youtu.be/BMLUsphcy08 Impressive, eh? Both the cover and the trailer were created by the author. I don't know about you, but I'm super jealous. In celebration of the release of this, David's first full length novel, I've asked him to tell us a little more about his writing, being an indie author, and which of his worlds he'd want to be trapped in. So here we go! Five Somewhat Random Questio...

Indie Author Spotlight Week: An Intro & Some Robot News

Image
Hi Everyone! Today begins Indie Author Spotlight week 2017! For the next five days, we have cover reveals, new releases, bonkers interviews, and a bunch of other amazing and wonderful indie book related events. To start us off, I have a very important announcement of my own.  But first... FREE STUFF!!!   Completely unrelated to this series, or the fact that my blog is robo-centric, or anything else for that matter, author CB Archer is hosting an impromptu free book bonanza under the Twitter hashtag #RobotPartyWeek. Searching this tag all week will find you random free books in a wide variety of genres, including CB's own self-styled genre of elfrotica. Later this week, CB and I sit down for a 100% wheels-off, adult-rated but still totally immature interview, which should explain a few things. Also coming up we have a Sci-fi new release, a fantasy new release, and a fantasy cover reveal that will make you swoon! Plus, I will break things.  B...

Hanging Out with Shannon Reber: Crazy Prolific Indie Author

Image
Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've introduced you all to a fabulous indie author, so let's rectify that by dragging one of my Twitter sisters over to the hot seat! That's Twitter sister, not twisted sister, though really, I'm not sure there's much of a difference when it comes to the authors I proudly claim as my second family. Shannon Reber is family. You may recall that I reviewed Shannon's first novella , The Seer last year as part of my Write On! review segment. Well, in the year since, this gal has penned a total of eighteen books. Yeah, let that sink in! Eighteen books! AND she'll be offering five of them for free this Friday, January 13th as part of our SIA Showcase event . Which is why we're here today, Shannon's lucky eighteenth book, Friends and Foes , just launched today. To celebrate, I sat down with Shannon to discuss the new book, her other books, life as an Indie author, and which Twitter sibling is the best (spoiler al...

A Small Nothing I Did

Image
I wrote a short story. Yes, I know, that's not exactly shocking since I'm an author and there's even a short story floating around somewhere on this blog. But actually, yeah, it's a bit more peculiar than you'd think. Short story writing is not easy and it's not something that is given anywhere near enough respect these days. Shocking, really, in this age of short attention spans. Personally, I keep a well-stocked collection of short works on my Kindle specifically for those moments when I find myself in need of a distraction from boredom, but I don't have enough time to invest myself in a longer work. But this little story... Well, you'll see.  Here's the cover and blurb: Chevelle Falsetto has died, struck down by the number 48 bus. The very bus she should have been riding to work. Now, instead of explaining to her boss why she's late, Chevelle finds herself explaining to Saint Peter why she's early.  This is a curious litt...
